Dr. Chris Schelkopf began his career practicing veterinary medicine in mixed animal practice before deciding to focus solely on canine and feline medicine in 2018. Dr. Schelkopf graduated with his bachelor's in science from Western Illinois University in 2006 and attended The University of Illinois College of Veterinary medicine before graduating in 2010.
Dr. Schelkopf's areas of professional interest are internal medicine and orthopedic surgery including TTA cranial cruciate repair. Dr. Schelkopf has always enjoyed the client education and communication portion of the profession as well. He is a third-generation veterinarian and has always had a passion for veterinary medicine driven by the human-animal bond.
Outside of work, Dr. Schelkopf loves spending time outdoors with his wife, two daughters, and his two yellow Labrador Retrievers; Augie and Echo. Dr. Schelkopf enjoys the outdoors including fishing and hiking and is also a huge fan of movies, music, and professional sports.
